Hey everyone my names Dale Parker and im a singer songwriter from Newcastle England. First things first ill tell you a little about how i got into the music making. When i was around the age of 17 i decided to go through what i thought might be a phase of wanting to play the guitar, My Granda Kev lent me his strat replica and before i knew it i was playing "Smoke on the water" and "Seven nation army".
After a number of months of playing the same tunes over and over my then girfiend at the time "Phoebe Stephenson" started to teach me a number of chords. After watching countless videos on youtube and with my obsessive attitude to learning the chords i eventually started to gain abit of skill on the guitar.
From being in the school choir at a young age i thought id try my hand at singing my own songs, this in turn led me to making my first tune. The first song i ever wrote was called "Burgundy France". The piece was quite awful and didnt really have any great qualities to it although it did set me off in the right direction. After taking a great interest to "Jack Johnson" i decided the music i wanted to make would be acoustic, quirky and fun feeling. My first good sounding song "Talk is cheap" was based on my university issues at the time, it had a great intro and also chorus but still lacked something that was needed to make it that little bit better.
After writing a number of summer feel good songs such as "Face Value","Our World and "Can you Believe" i decided it was time to take the stage. Martin Stephenson and the daintee's were holding a gig at the side cinema in Newcastle, this was in aid to help restore the cinema back to its former glory. After having a lovely tomatoe soup at a cafe in Tynemouth Martin asked me if id like to come up onstage for a song, I agreed but was totally terrified at the thought of singing and playing guitar in front of an audience. At the gig i played "Talk is cheap", martin told me just to tell the band what key the song was in and they would play along, Of course i knew nothing about theory and just had to play on with the band guessing what i was playing :P. I then played a beatles cover of "Rocky racoon", the audience loved it and i came off the stage buzzing with confidence and pride.
At my next gig at the "North shields rugby club"i had placed an advert on "Joinmyband.co.uk" asking if anyone fancied backing up a singer songwriter at some upcoming gigs. I got a replie off a bass played called "Karl Brown". He came for two practices before the gig and we hit the stage, to both our surprise we did rather well however there was only about 15 people in the crowd including our parents xD.
After doing a number of other gigs including birthday parties and charity gigs i decided it was time to hit the big stage at the 02 academy. In getting a number of my friends there we had prepared a setlist where all the big tunes came at the end. After doing around 5 songs in which my nose bleed, the guitar received alot of feedback and a girl who wont be named kept shouting "WHATS YOUR DRUMMERS NAME" we were cut short due to our bad judgement of set times. Amongst the ranks this time was my drummer " Jack Robinson". With the band now being of 3 strong i felt like it was time to take it a step further.
In the next coming months things started to take abit of a wee downer. Uniiversity didnt happen,i got denied from camp america, not to mention i didnt like the job i was in at the time. So with this all happening the music sort of faded out alittle. It wasnt until later mid 2011 where i decided to upload the music to"itunes
