Americans had no purpose over there. They just went because they felt obligated to, which is very unamerican. Especially since most Americans are lazy assholes, and the people that volunteered for war were either already soldiers or just wanted the chance to kill somebody. The war would've ended sooner and in the same way with very little to no affect/effect on America if we hadn't gotten involved. Besides, I'm sure the free part (I forget what side wasn't communist) would've gotten helped by some other asian country anyway.
