Politics- 2008 Election After the 2006 midterms, it became clear that Democrats would expand their majorities in Congress, and the only way to maintain the benefits of divided government would be to elect the Republican nominee for President. In hopes of getting an acceptable Republican nominee, I first supported Chuck Hagel, then Ron Paul, and eventually reluctantly supported McCain. These videos were created and posted in support of those candidates and to promote the divided government voting heuristic. So it goes. We now have a One Party Rule under the Democrats. Cue unintended consequences.

Politically, I describe myself as a fiscal conservative, social liberal, and libertarian leaning independent. Although I voted for Reagan, I am registered as a Democrat (In SF local politics, the only game in town). I guess that also classifies me as a 'Reagan Democrat.' For the 2008 election, I was a Hagel Republican, then a Ron Paul Republican, then a reluctant John McCain Republican. Nothing against Obama, it's just that One Party Rule is always a bad idea. Always.

I am amused by the similarity in these quotes between Republican Ronald Reagan and Anarchist Mikhail Bakunin.
