Well they did the A Little Light Music live album mainly in response that Tull was not 'big enough' for their Unplugged series. Tull went to them and were all in for it but MTV wanted "bigger names". And I'm sure Tull could have pulled a "Dude Looks Like A Lady" type song if needed LOL

Well really...it was for both hard rock and heavy metal, and this is certainly a hard rock song, though most of the still excellent album was not. They probably got the category due to Aqualung, which in 1971 was as metal an album as many.
