Dope Chic City strives to show the social importance of music and visual arts by working with musicians and artists who understand that "Art is Life & Life is Creation". DCC creates an environment for the artist to be "THE DOPEST", by creating situations that help attain their goals and promote Self-sufficiency through their art.

CREATING a Dope Chic...CASMERCEDES
I was born Casmir Patrice Mercedes Palmer Patterson, in the 1980's on the south side in Chicago IL. I'm from the "east side aka South Shore. I am a painter,photographer, videographer and newest title to the list Musician. My father is a blues guitarist and my mother is a teacher in the Chicago Public Schools. I was raised as an only child so I would draw with my mother taught me how to draw my first face. There are no schools for the Arts where my mother and I lived so I picked up sports as a creative outlet. In my downtime I would experiment with music production on my moms Yamaha keyboard. I begged her for the "Hip Hop E-Jay" software and spent madd summer nights creating music together with imaginative loops and sound effects.
My experiences range from the urban environments of Chicago where i was born and raised to the hardwood basketball courts where i spent most off my life. I use my experiences in my work to create images on canvas, paper, video, T-shirts, sneakers or music with what ever i can get my hands on at the moment. I usually let the inspiration guide me to work on my ideas.
