ALL FOR ONE DANCE GROUP Dance & Exercise Program HOLLAND, MICHIGAN Mission Statement Promote Physical fitness in our youth through dance and exercise. Celebrate all cultures through diversity of music. Dominique Vargas founded ALL FOR ONE Dance Group at the age 12 years old of Holland in March 2005. Her vision was to share her dance technique and knowledge to youth free of charge. That year the program became available to the youth in Holland and surroundings townships. Dances offered in the program are Zumba, Mexican Folklorico,Cumbia, Hip-Hop, Pop & Lock, Hip-hop. All our classes are truly a diversity work as well as unique. ALL FOR ONE has three dance ensembles, with exceptionally talented children and teens that serve as program role models. This group dance provides West Michigan with powerful shows that proofs that physical fitness can be fun. ALL FOR ONE Dance Group has gained much media attention and been featured in several television and newspaper stories through the Mid-West. One of many accomplishments is being part of Maranda WOTV/ABC Party in the Park each summer; Holland National Night out, LAUP Fiesta, Tulip Time Kinderplaats, Tulipanes Film and Art Festivals, City of Holland Special Events and Grand Rapids Fredrick Meijers Gardens. Dominique Vargas received the 2006 Regional Kohls Kids Who Care Program Award and $1,000 college scholarship and was the Winner of the City of Holland 2006 Social Justice Youth Award. In addition, one of our most recent articles was HEROES AMONG US, featured on the April 16, 2007 People Magazine, which reaches over 14 million people in the USA, 40 million in the world. That same day the Holland Sentinel and Grand Rapids Press also ran stories on the dance group. On March 5, 2007, the Holland Area Arts Council, 150 East 8th Street, Holland, MI became our new home. We are excited to reach many goals we first put fourth when we started in 2005, one to be part of the Arts Council. In addition, on March 1, 2008 we became a non-profit dance program under the umbrella of the Holland Area Arts Council. We continue to grow and add dance instructors to meet the program's needs. ALL FOR ONE is presently in the works of developing a College Internship Program and creating opportunities for college students who wish to volunteer in the program. The program is the first in Hollands history to have a focus on physical fitness through the diversity of dance and music, and founded by the youngest citizen in this community. This program is not only a home grown but is also a model for other communities in the United States. On January 19, 2008 ALL FOR ONE DANCE PROGRAM proclaim "Get Healthy Get Dancing Day during the program's third annual anniversary open house. Holland Mayor Albert McGeeham presented the proclamation. Once again, the program marks another day in Hollands history. ANYONE WANTING MORE INFORMATION ON OUR GROUP OR CLASS TIMES AND LOCATIONS CAN CALL 616-396-3278 or 616-399-5263. The cost of the classes is $ 20 for 9-week sessions and scholarships are available for anyone who wishes to apply. Our dance sessions are nine weeks long.
