@dukoduli Tamron is sharper but the 24-85 is more versatile. It acts like a macro as well with the macro switch. The Tamron is a little better in my opinion.

@capmayer24 It will depend on the body youll use the 70-200mm with. For full frame its great. But for crop sensor, it may be a little too long since it becomes a 105-300mm. For me, an all purpose lens is the 24-70mm both on full frame and crop sensor. Hope this helps.

@rawat2u Tamron 28-75 is good enough for portraits. Most lenses are good enough but some like to have really sharp pics that pop and this is where the 135mm f2 DC comes into play. Best Nikon? All serves different purposes, so it depends on what you are doing. I see it as using the right tools...
