"This week's featured artist is Julian Snare--Derwydd Jones Tree Artist, aka "DJ TArtist." Julian hails from beautiful Ystradgynlais, Powys, in Southern Wales. Wales is a magical place of stunning beauty and variety. Legend has it that Merlin was born in southern Wales to the daughter of a Welsh King.
We did a little research to find out just exactly what the words Derwydd & Tartist mean. We found that Derwydd, is a Welsh Gaelic word meaning Druid which also translates to "the way of the oak" or "oak knowledge." Quite a fitting name for a wood artist in Wales and one with Arch Druidic family connections, don't you agree?
