♡Greetings from London & welcome to my channel. Some funky groove tunes from my record collection for your enjoyment. This is the mission - to share this particular genre of music with as many like minded souls worldwide as possible. The Fat Cats™ in the record industry may not like it but I hope you do & I apologise to those of you who can't hear some of the tracks - this is because your country has been targeted for a marketing assault by the Fat Cats™ - permit me to tell you a little fairytale... languishing in a CD warehouse somewhere near Berlin is a few hundred boxes of a crap mainstream compilation album which feature one or more of the tunes on this channel. They'll be sold off in their thousands in post xmas sales for the next five years or so, making lots of money for the Fat Cats™ before being repackaged, reissued & re-marketed somewhere else. These guys own/rent/let the rights to the music & some view YouTube as competition rather than a marketing opportunity but others arrange a deal with YouTube to show adverts. Different Fat Cats™, different strategies - currently WMG Warner Music Group (or Weapons of Miserable Ghastliness), no longer have a deal with YouTube so they force YouTube to mute the audio. They are the prime movers in antiquated mass marketing. There is no point in me uploading a lot of cool stuff on Atlantic for example, because WMG bought Atlantic & WMG would rather pull a tune off the air of effectively the worlds greatest radio/TV station & hope that the whole internet thing just goes away than let it run with a few adverts alongside it to cover the cost of the broadcast. (It would seem that WMG have now re-established a YouTube agreement, wow! Now you guys can look at some commercials! Great! Does this make me a salesman? Looks like I'm selling the new Spielberg picture! I'm a Spielberg pusher! Haha! Spielberg anyone? Psst... Want some Spielberg buddy?) This may be the reason why you don't see a favourite tune - I may have uploaded it, found the audio disabled & junked it or I may not have the record or even heard it before. Music is massive! Life is what you make it (?), but music at least makes it bearable.
If you like what you hear - subscribe! Here are some things to bear in mind.
1. This is not a visual channel. There is not a lot to see here unless you like revolving turntables - you are expected to use your ears. These records are my own & some have seen a lot of use over the years - I buy records to play them, not to wrap them in cotton wool. If you've been used to a diet of MP3 music you might really notice the scratches & tonal differences that comes with analogue music as well as different volumes between records. Some records are well 'pressed', whilst others are cheaper and don't have as much resistance to wear. 2. Funk purists might choke over some of the songs featured but I don't care - purists are boring & if it funks me, its here. The playlists are self explanatory. 3. Comments. Please feel free to leave your thoughts or express your opinions - any comments regarding the history or personnel involved in these songs would be appreciated as I have been lacking in providing adequate descriptions such as line up info, recording dates, band bios etc. I am not really into censorship but please bear in mind that I will not tolerate Nazis, white supremacists, hate recruiters, racists, radical extremists, party poopers, religious fundamentalists or any other vibe killing idiots, trolls or fools deemed (by me), to be offensive to others. This channel is a 'family show'... All racist, nasty or other blatantly offensive comments will simply be removed & the perpetrators will be blocked & reported. That said, even though I am not expecting huge volumes of comments I don't really have the time or the inclination to police the channel so if you want to leave a comment please try to be nice because its always nice to be nice.
