Bobby "Bobcat" Ervin professionally known as Bobcat or DJ Bobcat is an absolute Icon in the Entertainment Industry. Bobcat is an industrious Grammy award winner and Multi-Platinum Producer, Songwriter, DJ, Artist and Entrepreneur with overwhelming success, recognition and prestige in the music industry doing music production, overseeing recording budgets and handling business. Bobcat has produced multi-platinum hits and classic albums for some of the most influential artists in music history selling over 40 million albums worldwide!
Along with Uncle Jams Army and Greg Mack Bobcat helped pioneer the world's very first 24-hour Hip Hop radio station, 1580 KDAY changing the entire format at radio introducing and pioneering the Saturday Night Mix Show and Traffic Jam.
After dominating the West Coast Hip Hop scene Bobcat flew to New York and began working with rap mogul Russell Simmons, Lyor Cohen and Def Jam Records, writing and producing LL Cool J's biggest albums and greatest hit's: I Need Love, I'm Bad, Kanday and Mama Said Knock You Out, to name a few.
Bobcat has also DJayed all over the world at hot clubs, on sold out tours, various radio and on all major TV networks including MTV, BET, Saturday Night Live, Soul Train Awards, Def Jam Records, Mack 10, Fat Joe, MC Ren and other high profile artist and companies over the years.
After producing various artists from the East, Bobcat along DJ Pooh, Rashad Coles and Sir Jynx produced Ice Cube's entire classic multi-platinum album entitled Death Certificate that was recently voted #6 on the greatest rap albums of all time on MTV by Hip Hop fans all over the world. Bobcat has also produced Eazy E's classic last album, Str8 Off Tha Streetz Of Compton and also MC Ren's classic EP that was the first EP in history to go platinum!
To add to Bobcat's impressive track record, Bobcat was voted the greatest DJ in the world of Hip Hop by his peers and was given a proclamation by the Atlanta City Council for being a positive influence and role model for the community. Over Bobcat's fascinating career he has worked with everyone from Clive Davis, Russell Simmons, Lyor Cohen, Steve Rifkin, Madonna, Guy Oseary, and has written and produced classic songs for artists such as: LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Mack 10, Tupac and many others. Also artist such as: Jagged Edge, Bow Wow, Usher, and Mater P have all remade Bobcat's incredible music that has become timeless classic radio hits. Just recently Bobcat was honored with a legendary DJ/Producer award from the Core DJ's along with So-So Def/Island Records for all of his accomplishments in his incredible career.
Bobcat's unique and diverse style of production and his outgoing personality and business savvy gives him the edge and ability to continue to reinvent himself. Bobcat has recently expanded his entrepreneurial endeavors by joining forces and collaborating with video game and music editing software companies such as Sony and others, he has plans to launch a video game division of his new company.
