Hey everyone, my name is Sascha Damon Frost. I started this channel a little over 2 years ago just as a hobby. Then, I guess I just couldn't really stop making videos. I really enjoy singing and playing the guitar, and I have since I was young. I am self-taught, and I know I'm not the greatest player or singer out there, but it's just what I like to do. I've been playing guitar for about 3 years. My main influences are Modest Mouse, Frank Black, Radiohead, Memory Tapes, and Beck. I tend to do a lot of covers at this point since I am still developing my own theory and abilities, but I occasionally write original songs. In life, I often find myself unable to accurately describe or convey my emotions, so I write songs to try and express them. The conversion process has not yet been perfected, but I'll keep practicing, and I will get better : ) As far as a band, I do have one (though I'd rather say "we" have one). I'm not really sure what it's called. I guess it's just that hipster =P jk. We're throwin' some names around ... last summer we were called PatternWorld, and now were called Halcyon Sunshine. We have a lot of different band members, some of which are currently away at college. Until they get back, we probably won't have much new stuff coming out. But I will continue to post here as long as someone's watching. Recently, I've been working more in the electronic realm, incorporating guitar loops on both acoustic and electric. It is my dream to create a completely unique genre, one that is otherworldly sounding, one that draws from the widest possible range of influences, and one that could possibly change the way people listen to music completely. I'm not sure I'll ever get there, but with your help, maybe it's not so out of reach. My message to aspiring musicians is to just be yourself, and don't be afraid of what other people think. You know, you might be the most shy person in the world, but that doesn't mean you can't make music. I myself, am a very shy person, and I struggle with social anxiety. I'm hoping that posting videos and continuing to perform live will help me get over that. Anyway, I may be a pretty awkward person at times, but I'm pretty chill, so don't be afraid to send me a friend request on facebook if you like my videos. And feel free to recommend me some bands to listen to ... always looking for new things! : )
