Darryl Pearson aka Shaleek - A Brooklyn, NY native, now a Brick City resident. Shaleek began his music career as a Dee Jay in the early 80's when the Hip Hop genre was born. He knew When he seen The Sugar Hill Gang being interviewed on Eye Witness news for there record "Rappers Delight" , he knew he will have a future in music. His love for music has always been a key factor in his life. From making copies of the Grand Master Flash party tapes to mimicking the Force Mc's at his own parties. His Dj and Emcee skills were noticed and greatly respected throughout his Brownsville neighborhood, Future endeavors would lead to producing songs for Priority/Duck Down artists Boot Camp Click, Smif and Wessun aka Coco Brovaz, and Heltah Skeltah. Shaleek's album credits include Da Representativs, OGC first and second album, DuckDown Presents, Heltah Skeltah, and Smif and Wessun aka Coco Brovaz. Establishing his own independent record label Platinum Sellers, Shaleek produced songs for his own artists while continuing to produce records and make beats for other recording artists such as Sean Price, Ben Frank, OGC, Steele & Rampage. Shaleek later became President of Independent record label New Age Artists that showcased Natia as their foremost artist. Shaleek later founded Da Beat Shop Recording Studio and is presently engineering and producing banging tracks for various artists at Da BeatShop. Shaleek is currently producing tracks for Fredro Starr formerly of the group ONYX, Ted 'Wizard' Mills, Ft. Nox, Natia , Sean Price, Papa Don, Dj ChuckChillout, CashFlo Records, The Slata Crew, Nicky Rumz, Supreme of the Boot Camp Clik and numerous artist in around the Newark New Jersey area. Shaleek is building a foundation for his BeatShop Studio.
