We live on a unique and amazing planet, exceedingly rare in its ability to sustain life. Religious fundamentalism is an outdated relic of ancient tribal society and in my humble opinion, mankind really needs to put things into a more mature perspective, get educated and truly appreciate the world beyond one's selfish and insular worldview.
I am an agnostic so cannot declare with certaintly that there is (are) no deities, or possibility of some form of greater intelligence (of the kind described by Sir Fred Hoyle) which created the rules that govern matter and existence; or the possibility that there are spiritual undercurrents which influence human society - albeit having nothing to do with the *creation* of life. I find the topic of evolution to be quite interesting because it deals with the nature of change and success.
I do reject the major desert religions (and especially literal fundamentalists) for the fact they are too much of a carryover of ancient Bronze Age tribal rivalries. They reject new information and ideas, and are too often utilized as a form of social control or "us vs. them" meme with ulterior motives. Their success IMO is due having a foundation in pre-existing social patterns such as following the alpha leader and reward-and-punishment-based conditioning.
Those attempting to troll, debate or proselytize via PM will be blocked, as I do not have the time to indulge you. I grew up among religious fundamentalists, so I've heard all the arguments before.
