@beezzus86 Pete could be better, but he's young and still improving. "Winky" is 40-years-old and hasn't fought in three years. I'll take "Kid" Chocolate in this one.

Magnus Carlsen 30 second chess match
World no 1 Magnus Carlsen plays a chess match with 30 seconds for the entire game (and 9,5 minutes for his opponent, Elise Jacobsen of Tromso).

@JustCrowned I took note of that, too, but it made me chuckle. I don't know how strong that girl was, but 99.99% of the world's kids his age would've been a joke for him to play. I don't think Magnus meant anything by it, it's just that that game must've been like sleepwalking for him.

I've always wondered (and I know I'm not alone), if all the ATG players were born in the same year, say, 1963, who would rise to the top of the heap? My short list of ATGs would be Morphy, Capablanca, Alekhine, Fischer, and Kasparov. (Others may be added, but I don't include Karpov because he's a...

@FunJr Who am I to question Purdy? Although his point is well taken, it must be noted that Morphy was an almost singular chess prodigy. Paul might've been nearly as strong if he never studied at all. As someone else already noted, strong players are divided on what's more important: study or prac...

@777MexicanPride777 Well said. Mikey is very good, but it's also very easy for a fighter as talented as he is to look good against a 19-12-1 fighter. Garcia will rise to the top of his division in time. At the moment, Mikey isn't ready for guys like Salido and Gamboa. Even Lopez, with his leaky d...

@PvtCain No telling what Gary's future is, but it sure looks bright. Right now, Gamboa tears through him, though. Yuri is much more athletic, stronger and punches harder. Russell calls to mind a journeyman with blinding hand-speed and excellent skills, if that makes any sense. His style is just t...

Good interview. Pete seems like a nice kid. He shows promise. I wish him luck! For those that don't know. "Kid Chocolate" was the nickname of the Cuban boxing legend of the 1930s, Eligio Sardiñas. Pete took the name as a tribute to his Cuban heritage. (His father's Cuban.)

This is the fight many of us want to see. It's difficult to say who will win. Yuri and Juanma are two young, talented fighters who excel in different areas. Ugas doesn't impress me. He appeared gassed in the fourth round against a guy with a 7-12 record and won a decision? Zzzzzzz. These are the kind of fights that future champs tear through. Keep your eye on the Cubans Rigondeaux, Gamboa and Lara.
Santana is a lesser-known Cuban prospect. He has a future -- nice skills, aggressive, fast and young. The kid flew under my radar until today. I'll be keeping an eye on him!
