@twelvejewelz no, the rule at the time was the following: the "clearing" had to be made in a straight line, the line of scrimmage, and not the spot from where the ball was to be placed, thats why Shula was all upset..

@cheatmasterbw yeah back in the 80s craze the local news came to my school to film me and a couple other boys for a local tv news magazine type show, like inside edition, cause we were doing it in under 5 minutes, and big whup, we were 9, 10 year old kids doing it .. now its no biggie ..
