The original music of the game is really nice. It's become one of my favorite NES game soundtracks. The composer, Hirohiko Takayama, has done some other good soundtracks like Xexyz and King of Kings (another import) and is among my favorite VG music composers.

Interesting...at 43:42, I was thinking Nd2 which covers b1 and if Bxd2 then Rxb2. I think that might still win and can't see what black would do to be anything better than down a pawn and the exchange, but Rxc3 does seem better and I didn't see it at all - pretty ingenious move.

I think your queen sac was sound because your queen was quite immobile anyways, and it got rid of one of whites potentially menacing attack pieces and a decent bishop that could have turned into another attacking piece. Rb7 might have been better from a computer perspective but the queen sac help...
