By artful devices the enemy is rapidly adding souls to the number of those who are deceived. Many of our church-members are sadly lacking in true missionary zeal. There is a dearth of tithes and offerings. We need to repent of our failure to unite with Christ as laborers together with God. Because of our indifference to the appeals of God, we have not reached one half of those who might be reached. Few have felt a heavy burden for souls. How much more might have been accomplished had the time spent by God's people in faultfinding been spent in encouraging one another, and in active service! How much better for voices to blend in prayer, in holy unison, than to be employed in finding fault! We have no time for faultfinding or criticism. {RH, January 3, 1907 par. 8}

We all have a choice to believe what we want. To believe the Bible, as the word of God can only be achieved by a direct connection with the Holy Spirit. The creation story is either true or it isn't. I choose to believe it is and here are my reasons: On a spiritual level it defines who "God" is, our Creator, and why He deserves our worship. It also goes hand in hand with the fact that we "fell" into sin from a perfect state to our current condition and now need a Savior, Jesus Christ. The theory of Evolution denies the fact we fell, but that we rose on a physical level just looking at nature and believing it "evolved" by chance is like taking a bunch of gears and parts and throwing them in the air and they come down a watch. Or, looking at a painting by a master and say what a masterpiece but then looking at what is physical and saying it's beautiful, but it happened by chance. The reason I choose to believe the creation story is the fact it is the only place that explains the 7 day weekly cycle. Basically the whole world has the week. Can you explain where it came from? We measure time by celestial bodies. The earth spins once, it's a day. The moon orbits once, it's a month. One time around the sun, it's a year. But we all have a 7 day week. Faith is something you can't prove. Faith is the evidence and the substance of things NOT seen. Believing in and trusting in God is a choice. And when we choose this He does manifest Himself in the life of a christian. He promises things wont always be easy here but this will pass.
