Thank you very much for your comments. Even I am not from Russia I am in loved with this mighty country, his history and his culture a country capable enough to fight and sacrifice for others and for a utopia. I lived for 18 year in a communist country and I know what it means, also I know that its the people who count. Have a nice day!

You're right about the X-15. Scotty and the rest of the X-15 pilots sure had the "Right Stuff" I know I couldn't have done it. But I still wish I could have! Some of those guys went 50+ miles altitude... that's more than 260,000 feet. And to think, there are still people who think it's not possible to enter space from a non-ballistic launch vehicle, even after SpaceShip One's success in that area.

You're 100% SPOT-ON, Batvette... the Airborne Laser is now fully ground-tested,
hopes to be fully air-operational by late this year or 2010. And OF COURSE it
WILL be used against ground targets. ABL v. ICBM countermeasures could be
as simple as chroming the missile and rolling it around its long axis during Boost-Phase...

Re:Airborne laser..... hehe, funny you mention that. I have been following its development for a few years and looked indepth at all its systems, as I was somewhat doubting of the operational plausibility of such a design. The idea of an assasination platform was the very first thing that popped into my mind that they'd abuse it for.
Any doubts it might be mission capable were buried when I saw the amazing size of its chemical laser, and the redundancy of its target tracking lasers, FWIW. However like any weapon a formidable enemy will develop a countermeasure (mirrored disco ball missiles, FTW!) but the Kim Jong il's will be emasculated for now. Our worst enemy though is US. For the most part the War on Terror has likely been a scam. (though I'm not yet a 9/11 CT) Regards, John
