A bad battery does _not_ cause this to an engine. Firstly, there is a generator that gives electricity to the ignition and auxiliary units such as the EFI ECU. Secondly, if the EFI ECU would fail then the engine will not get any fuel which means that it will stop without further consequences.

@TexasHighDef Well, if you fix the engine to the ground and use it to pull the weight from the pit, then you get a fairly reliable measure (there is always friction to account for) but if you use a whole vehicle to pull it then it is a different story.

Just note that the engine is only 385 hp so it is useless for propulsion, it still uses a regular powertrain. The jet engine on the bloodhound dragster is 40,000 hp.
