Auf seine alten Tage wird Bundesrat Hans-Rudolf Merz noch ganz lustig und hat einen ordentlichen Lachanfall als es um die Zunahme der Importmenge von gewürztem Fleisch geht.
Nach seinem Ausscheiden aus dem Bundesrat könnte sich Hans-Rudolf Merz ja mal noch als Komiker versuchen, denn es gehört sehr viel dazu, aus einem komplett langweiligen Satz eine solche Lachnummer zu produzieren:
"In Anlehnung an Anmerkung 6a zum Kapitel 2 der KN hat die Zollverwaltung zusätzlich sog. Schweizerische Erläuterungen zum Zolltarif publiziert. Danach werden gewisse Erzeugnisse noch im Kapitel 2 eingereiht, denen bei der Herstellung Würzstoffe zugesetzt worden sind, sofern dadurch der Charakter einer Ware dieses Kapitels nicht verändert wird (zum Beispiel Bündnerfleisch). Ausgeschlossen von diesem Kapitel bleibt hingegen Fleisch, bei dem die Würzstoffe auf allen Flächen des Erzeugnisses verteilt und mit blossem Auge wahrnehmbar sind."
The text he is reading is actual not funny at all - and that is basically the reason why it is so funny ;-)

'' Not to be confused with the group of the same name from the UK. These guys were way ahead of their time, playing a blend of instrumental, violin fronted post-rock which invokes feelings of sparsity and space. Think of the more accessible Dirty Three tunes or Grails' Burden of Hope. From Melbourne, these guys unfortunately disbanded in 2001 after having self-released an EP and having both albums produced by Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth).
John Brooks (guitar) released an album under the monika J.P. Shilo called As Happy As Sad Is Blue in 2006 , and is currently working on a follow up, writes music for film and plays with Adalita, The Black Eyed Susans and heaps of other artists.
