The Cork Humanists is a secular moral community based on a progressive philosophical life-stance and is not simply a negative response to religion. We support, promote and defend the rights and freedoms of the human being as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.Membership of the Cork Humanists is open to all non-believers regardless of label, including but not exclusively, Atheists, Agnostics, Skeptics, Freethinkers, non-theists, or as yet uncategorised non-believers, and is not limited to those who choose to adopt the label of Humanist.
The Cork Humanists is run by and for its members and is organised on a democratic basis. The Cork Humanists aims to be more than simply socialisation. Together we hope to foster a community of fellowship. This fellowship encompasses outreach, volunteerism, advancing shared goals and enriching the life of our community. Our community values enquiry and debate on philosophical and moral issues. As a community of freethinkers we will not always agree, but will strive to have compassion and respect for each other.
Together we want to create a secular moral community where the non-religious can share and celebrate their experiences of trying to live moral and ethical lives. We strive to promote a progressive life-stance that affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfilment that aspire to the greater good of humanity.
Great pics, pity about what the big companies pulling out after 2001, Youghal needs to get the railway again for tourism.
