Cookie Mueller was a woman of many talents. She was a Go-Go dancer, drug dealer, fashion desighner, underground film actress, journalist, theatre actress, outlaw, playwrite, leg model, unwed wellfare mother, barmaid, sailor, barmitzvah entertainer and overall a goddess. But Cookie is more well known for her work in John Waters films such as Multiple Maniacs, Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Desperate Living, and Polyester. She also appeared as extras in other films and whent on to write touching and funny memoirs such as "Walking through clear water in a pool painted black," "How to get rid of pimples" and "Garden of ashes." She also had a column in the New York Times called "Ask Doctor Mueller." Sadly Cookie died of Aids related causes in 1989 leaving behind her then 17 year old son Max. But cookie's legend will live on forever in John's films and her writing.
