About Me:
My Dad passed away in 2001 but today I railfan on my days off from work to capture the spirit of railroading and share it with others.
Conrail became my favorite railroad after watching long Trail Van (intermodal) trains running through Syracuse N.Y. while attending a soccer tournament there. My eyes lit up when I saw the blue and white SD40's, SD50's SD60's and GE units running along the old NYC Chicago Line. I was bitten by the Conrail bug.
Conrail disappeared in 1999 but today, I'm a member of the Conrail Historical Society based in Pennsylvania. (CRHS.org) I model Conrail in N-scale trains as well. Keeping Big Blue's memory alive.
Conrail may be #1 in my heart but there were other railroads that I liked....and they are the Erie Lackawanna (those SD45's pulling TOFC! Wish I could have seen that in Indiana, along the Marion-Chicago mainline, now torn up.), Chessie System (MEOW!), Florida East Coast, CSX, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, CNW, Santa Fe, New England Central, VIA, Amtrak, Chicago Great Western (the 100 car trains led by 10 F units!), Rock Island, Milwaukee Road and Illinois Central.
All my videos on Youtube were done using either a SONY Cybershot DSC-W55 digital still camera or a SONY DCR-SR67 digital camcorder. The majority of my videos are now coming from the HDD camcorder.
I also have over 4 years of Hi8 videos of trains that I'm looking to convert. On these treasures from 1992-2006, I caught CP MLW's, VIA's LRC MLW's, CN's MLW's and much more!
Railfanning is a privilege. Not a right. Respect private property and always ask permission to be on railroad property before venturing onto it.
If you see anyone freight train hopping.....REPORT IT! Don't be ignorant and allow these losers to ruin the hobby
