The Congrats Jenna project was created at "The Office" board FanForum shortly after the Emmy nominations were announced in July 2007. When the members of the Executive Committee saw Jenna's commitment to her fans, through her agreement to give an exclusive interview to OfficeTally following her Emmy nomination, we felt we need to recognize her. We have enjoyed her MySpace blogs and constant praise for the fans and fan sites dedicated to this show. We decided to show our appreciation for all that Jenna does for her fans by taking out an ad in a widely-read trade publication, so that the Hollywood community would know what a blessing we feel Jenna is for us.
Unfortunately, we did not raise the funds in time for the special Emmy Day issue of The Hollywood Reporter. As of August 27, 2007, the deadline for a space reservation, we had raised only $344. Even a quarter-page black and white ad would have cost $1440. In light of these events, we have refocused our campaign and we are now raising money to donate in Jenna's name to one of her favorite charities.
About the Charity - Kitten Rescue
We have attempted to contact people close to Jenna Fischer to get her preference for this charity donation, but as of August 27th, we have not heard back. If Jenna does express a preference for another charity, we will change our charity accordingly.
Congrats Jenna has chosen Kitten Rescue in Los Angeles to benefit from our charity fundraising campaign. Jenna is a former volunteer and this charity is very close to her heart as she is a huge animal lover. They are always in need of donations as their donation page states: At Kitten Rescue, we operate at a constant deficit. Because we provide our cats with all the medical treatment they need, the adoption donation for each kitty only covers a fraction of our costs. Please consider this when you make your donation!
