Hi Lars. It's amazing that you could even locate a copy of On Ghost Trails since it was written so long ago. I thought the publisher just stopped printing it as I only added one additional book to the series after its publication and then ceased writing altogether. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. I think the story itself is interesting, however my writing style has been criticized as being too convoluted for such simple story-telling. They're probably right (or write).

Hi Lars. Good to hear from you. Yes, I wrote On Ghost Trails, Pacific Ghost Highway and a couple of others about ten years ago when I was trying to establish myself as an author, but it's very tough to break into the market as a new writer nowadays. Plus I started to believe I didn't have any talent, which probably was true. I don't write novels anymore. As to the 3rd movement I'm about 1/4 way through it but it's all mapped out in my head--about 9-10 minutes long depending on additions and deletions along the way. 3rd movements are the toughest of all to write owing to the fast tempo and the need to stretch a few ideas over a large canvas of sound. Hope all is going well with your work. Still anxious to see your own concerto. How's it coming?

I really appreciate your very nice comment on my song, "Arms of the Savior." I subbed your channel. If you like, you can sub mine in return. Have a great weekend.

So glad to hear you're working on the symphony and concerto. Tackling some larger forms is excellent for your growth as a composer. You seem to have mastered the smaller forms so now it's probably time to experiment with a major work. As for me, yes the concerto is coming along. I have the first theme section of the first movement exposition finished and am working out the slower, lyrical second theme right now. The development section will be the great unknown. I have some ideas but they are hard to assemble. The recapitulation to the end of the first movement and all of the second movement are already laid out in my head so they should go rather rapidly. The third movement is half in my head (closing) and half not (opening). I anticipate a January finish of the whole piece. Keep me informed on any works you add to your website. Good luck.

Hi, Lars. Just touching bases with you. How's everything? I haven't seen any new compositions. Are you working on anything? Let me know when you post something new and keep your concerto in mind. The best advice I can give if you want to write one is to just throw yourself headlong into it. Don't worry so much about the product at first. Just concern yourself with getting an extended form like a 10-15 minute movement on manuscript and then working out the details from there. Good luck.

Yes, I'd be happy to send it to you, Lars. It's a File XML (whatever that means) I sent it to someone else last year and they told me they needed a special program of some sort to decode it. Get your email address to me and I'll use an attachment to send it to you.
