Hi !! I'm Colleen & these are my kids, Jasmine & Petey. Jasmine is an 10 yr old Umbrella Cockatoo. Petey is about 61 yrs old (yes, 61 human years!!) Greater Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. Tara & Sadam (the hycainth macaws) belong to my boyfriend. He also has Angel (the Moluccan cockatoo).
Parrots are a long term commitment (some documented to live 120 years). The return is sooo worth it. They are highly intelligent. They not only appreciate interaction but require it. They thrive on attention & love from their owners. Get a parrot ONLY if you can spend a lot of time with it AND don't mind some noise. I highly recommend adopting a bird. There are too many that need a good home.
I also post videos w/ my friend's birds: Tara & Sadam, Hyacinth macaws, and Angel, a Mollucan cockatoo.
