About this user
I want to be Washington's next U.S. Senator because...
...I love my state and my country, and I want their future to be bright.
Unfortunately, most of the last decade has been very challenging for us as we have been dealing with terrorism; war; high unemployment; the loss of jobs in Washington due to the "technology bubble" bursting and Boeing relocating some of its operations; crises in the financial system including the stock market, banking industry, mortgage industry, and insurance industry; federal and state governments running deeply into debt; a health care system which has become too expensive and too complicated; and much more. As a nation and as a state we have been playing defense as we attempt to put out the fires that just keep springing up all around us, and many have lost confidence and become discouraged.
With your support, I want to turn the tide. I want our state and our nation to stop playing defense and begin playing offense. To start with, I want to bring more jobs to Washington State and to the rest of the nation; I want to make the political and economic environments friendly for businesses; I want to promote investment in our state and nation; I want our government to live within its means and to begin repaying its debt; I want to lower tax rates; I want to restore confidence in our financial markets; I want to reduce the complexity and cost of our health care system; I want to stabilize Medicare, Medicaid, and the Veterans' Health Care programs; I want us to be less dependent on other nations for energy; I want to preserve and protect the natural resources and beauty with which we have been blessed; I want to increase our security at home and abroad; I want the government, law, and tax code to protect and promote families; I want to promote small, accountable, efficient government that is beholden to the people and the Constitution; I want to promote and protect your unalienable rights which have been guaranteed by our Constitution; and this is only the start!
Most importantly, I want to reclaim the spirit of pride, confidence, and optimism about the future that is our rightful inheritance as Americans and as Washingtonians. Please join me, because together we will do it!
Thank you for your support,
Arthur Coday, Jr., M.D.
