There may be "no such thing as a telecaster bass" but one of mine does indeed say on the headstock "Fender Telecaster Bass" from the factory that way. It's a '73. Now, if the nice people at Fender wrote "telecaster bass" on the instrument they made, it's a telecaster bass no matter what anyone ...
