This gun holds a q-switched Nd:YAG laser head.
After charging the capacitors (takes about 4 secs.), it fires an intense 1 MW blast of invisible infrared 1064nm light! The pulse-duration is somewhere around 100ns...no chance to get the impacts with a normal camera.
Never wield one of these without laser-glasses for 1064nm!!

An early video on the Liero3D engine!
The goal of this project is to create a remake on the original Liero game, and keep the feeling and the graphics as much as possible.
THINGS TO NOTE:
This project is very much a Work-in-progress, some bugs are visible and there is loads of work left before the game is released.
I'm still working on those particles, no remarks are needed ;)
Objects like stones and clay block are temporary generated as spheres for the sake of this movie, they will be shaped more like the original when done.
The white parts of this movie shows my attempt to fake a "SSAO" like effect.

The video shows LODs of a voxelized scene. The featured plant models are made up of millions of voxels. It is often useful to work with lower LODs to save resources. For example distant objects are rendered at lower LOD than close ones. Similarly large particles usually interact with some of the lower LODs of the content. Atomontage Engine automatically maintains the integrity between the LODs in real-time.

This video presents one of the very key features of a voxel engine - real-time physics-driven content modification. Unlike most polygon engines a typical voxel engine is well capable to modify geometry in real-time. Atomontage Engine features a robust framework for handling particular atoms (voxels) that make up the volumetric scene. After the geometry is modified it is ready for physics simulation and rendering instantly. The engine supports vector data (e.g. the polygon-mesh pickup model), too.

An Ilyushin IL-18 Coot ( Alada D2-FFR) Operated by DHL aborts takeoff from the 8202 ft long airstrip at Cabinda, West Africa. The pilot has done an excellent job; - there's a busy public road beyond the boundary fence,less than 50 metres from the end of the runway.
Please don't ask me why he aborted; Sorry, I simply don't know.
I have been advised that in point of fact this is a (former) IL-22 airborne command post stripped of mission equipment - note the fin tip pod which regular IL-18s do not have. Thanks to MrZlodeus for this info
