After a recent incident(see about 1 month ago) I feel the need to make this for my profile so people will understand a joke when they see one. I couldn't respond to the guy immediately in said incident, due to my lack of checking e-mail/messages often enough, but hey... this is for future reference.

If you make angry comments about the brats thinking they are cool by using random Japanese words, I will reply to the comment if I see it with a small random blurb in Japanese. It is simply because you are being just as annoying, and more or less creating MORE of the annoyances from the 'Japanophiles' by feeding the fire when you do. Both sides of the issue are annoying. No, watching anime and learning a word or two does not make you cool. By the same regard, you're just as much a moron for getting pissed off and commenting about how angry it makes you.

I will admit, I was one of those people who did the random word thing for a while. The difference between me and about 90%+ of the people out there is I took my liking for the language and went and took classes on it. Amazing how quickly Japanese Language/Culture ceases to resemble Anime. Hell, one thing people need to understand is that most(almost all) Anime uses a very blunt style of speaking that most Japanese people wouldn't use in public. EVER. It's a cultural thing.

My initial reasons for learning were Anime. I'll admit it. I moved on from that, I actually rarely watch a lot of Anime anymore. I still study the language, I would like to go to Japan for immersion and to better my skills with both the Language and the Culture one day. And I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't pick up a few manga/anime while there as well, but it wouldn't be the main reason for going.

And that, my friends, is all I have to say. However, if you want to know:
I took 4 Semesters of Japanese in College, the last two were repeated for imrpovement and extra studying. That accumulates to me maybe picking up one or two lines every now and then when watching the average Anime. Point being: 2+ years of classes, and I'm still a complete novice in the language.
