I was thrown out of every Honors English Class I was in. Then some critic came along and said 'John-Rodger ushers in a genre of American Fiction, OutLaw Literature.' Then another said 'John-Rodger is America's next Faulkner' I mentioned to that critic that Faulkner was dead. My work is for the guy or girl sittin' at the end of the bar drinkin' beer out of a can.
