Yea, dropping ammo from space sounds like a good idea. Also, SM units used to be legions, not Chapters, and Legions would number about as many as an IG regiment, in other words, enough men to take a planet. And take planets they did(Crusades). But now, in the time of ending, a scenario like DC or SS is almost unheard of. So yea, the Chapters aren't really mean for this sort of "large scale planet capture" sort of thing.
