About this user
Citizens for Rail Safety, Inc. (CRS) is a non-profit, public interest group dedicated to improving rail safety throughout the United States.
It is the mission of CRS to provide academic research, constant monitoring and reporting of railroad accidents and recommendations from safety experts on the course of action the railroads can undertake to make their industry safer. CRS' objective is to be "the source" of information on all aspects of rail safety for the public, business, government and legal profession.
Citizens for Rail Safety is a member-supported organization. The membership of CRS is open to all citizens who feel that safe rail transportation is no longer a goal for the railroad industry, but is an obligation. The railroad industry is making 21st century profits while operating under 19th century safety standards.
It is CRS' intention that, through our efforts, we can encourage the railroads to consider the public interest ahead of corporate interests.
Citizens For Rail Safety, Inc., was founded and incorporated in 2005 by concerned citizens who are committed to improving rail safety in the United States.
