Aviva Kempner is a documentarian who makes films about underknown American heroes. She co-wrote and produced the award-winning Partisans of Vilna, and she wrote, directed, and produced Today I Vote for my Joey.
Aviva directed and produced The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg, which received many honors, including a George Peabody Award and an Emmy nomination. Aviva also reviews films on radio, writes film criticism and feature articles for numerous publications, and lectures about cinema throughout the country. Her latest project is Yoo-hoo, Mrs. Goldberg, a film about Gertrude Berg and her groundbreaking radio and TV show, The Goldbergs. Aviva is Executive Director of the Ciesla Foundation.
