There's no need to fill every gap. When something is unknown we can just say it's unknown.

I'd think it strange that the ship had no crew because ships are seen to have crews. If I saw a storm arrive instead of a ship I'd think n. crew because storms are seen to form and move without crews. Some things are intelligently directed and some things aren't.

Either the universe exists by accident or it was created by a god who exists by accident. All I know is that I can see the universe. I've never seen a god.
