If this is too much trouble for some of you I would suggest looking into a Cam Caddie Scorpion to get smooth shots with. It's inexpensive and highly effective.

Camera Stabilizers are a definite must for smooth shots. I'm using a Cam Caddie Scorpion and it's been very helpful getting all my moving shots to look professional.

Looks well made, I had way too much trouble putting one of these together. Cam Caddie was an inexpensive alternative that's helped me capture all sorts of smooth shots.

It also helps a lot to have a Camera Stabilizer to get smooth shots on the move or to just stay steady. I've been using a Cam Caddie SCorpion with great success, it's affordable and effective.

This is a decent quick fix though I've been much happier using a Cam Caddie it was less than $40 and it's helped me get much smoother shots all over the city.

Lame music, if it's smooth quality shots you need look into Cam Caddie. They're fairly inexpensive and the Scorpion from Cam Caddie is highly effective.

Looks a little shaky you probably just need some practice. I've mastered the Cam Caddie Scorpion very easily and it's been able to help me capture some beautifully smooth shots.

These are nice but very expensive. I've been very happy saving my money while using the Cam Caddie Scorpion to help me achieve beautifully smooth shots all over the world.

This version is awkward and ineffective for certain shots. I've had great success using my Cam Caddie Scorpion, it's sturdy and efficient. All my video have a professional look to them since switching to Cam Caddie.

I've been able to get equally steady shots using my Cam Caddie Scorpion without the troubles it take to get the glidecam to work right. Cam Caddie only put me back $38 and it's been highly effective.

YESS hardcore blading! I've been using a Cam Caddie Scorpion for the past year and I highly recommend it over any low-cost stabilizer. $38 and all my videos are incredibly smooth, with an obvious professional quality.

Nice looking video. The Flycam when used right is an effective tool but i must say I've been able to achieve great shots using my Cam Caddie Scorpion which was considerably less money.

@TRIPLEZEDOFFICIAL This is a quick fix, I've tried DIY steadycams like this one they're often ineffective or awkward. I've been using a Cam Caddie $38, great price and consistently smooth videos. I highly recommend one.

Still pretty shaky actually, I've been using the Cam Caddie SCorpion maybe it's the way I use it but I get some very smooth motion with it. It runs about $38 and well worth it.

@unkleluc Check out the Cam caddie Scorpion. $38 on amazon and it's easily comparable to all the shots taken in these steadycam Merlin videos. Which goes for about $800.

@houserfamily Check out Cam Caddie it's been great recording my kids running in the park with our dogs and sporting events and much more. $38 and all my video are very smooth.

Looks a little awkward, I've been using the Cam Caddie Scorpion for the past couple of years and have yet to find something superior especially at $38 it's hard to beat. This looks expensive.

@papam0o9 Check out the Cam Caddie SCorpion, I've been using it with everything from my Flip to my DSLR with some amazing results. It doesn't cost much either, $38 on Amazon, well spent.

I've had some bad times trying to put one of these together, for $13 more you can get yourself a Cam Caddie off Amazon, It has a superior design and can hold everything shown in this video.

On the topic of DIY, check out the Cam Caddie Scorpion before spending too much. Cam Caddie is about $38 and it can hold camera/lights/mics/ and a monitor all at once if need be while maintaining smooth movement. it's worked out perfectly for me.

For people like me without access to as many awesome tools as this man, check out the Cam Caddie Scorpion it's improved all my videos immeasurably.

I love the versatility of the Cam Caddie, I highly suggest to anyone looking for a more professional independent setup.

Just stop suggesting the X-grip it's the same price as the Cam Caddie except it could not mount my camera because the battery would not fit on its small frame, forget trying to keep it stable adding a light or 2. It's just another knockoff riding the coat tails of a great product!

I've had great results from all videos ever since I bought my Cam Caddie! such a great product for the independent video makers. What will they think of next!

The opteka X-grip is for kids who don't know any better. The Cam Caddie is the same price on Amazon and it can hold anything, lights, mic, all cameras. I've read dozens of complaints about the X-grips wobbly nature and small frame excluding certain cameras and lights from mounting at all.
