CHINA BEACH Episode: VETS (March 1989)

In 1962, America was at peace, JFK was President, and gorgeous young CHRIS NOEL exploded onto the Hollywood scene like a blonde bombshell. Called "the next Marilyn Monroe," sexy new starlet Chris played opposite Steve McQueen in SOLDIER IN THE RAIN, and co-starred in GIRL HAPPY with Elvis Presley!

But in 1965 Chris realized her true calling. The starlet became a soldier. Chris became a DJ for Armed Forces Radio Network, and her daily radio show, "A Date with Chris," was an instant hit. She toured Vietnam, appearing in person in remote locations in dangerous war zones.

Meanwhile, back in Hollywood, Chris appeared on dozens of sitcoms, variety shows and game shows, as well as numerous films.

Then, in 1993, she founded Vetsville Cease Fire House, a non-profit charity based in Florida and dedicated to providing food, shelter and care for indigent military veterans.
