Ooh ooh, me me! Max's car at the start is an Opel GT, but his blown up car (0:34) looks like a VW Karmann-Ghia; the right tail light is a dead giveaway. Opel GT's had two round taillights on each side, whereas the destroyed car has a thin, narrow tail light, a la the VW.
