Ray Briant Trio 1971 = with Hal Dodson on bass , Leroy Williams on drums
I'm all for sharing the music, but if you are going to post video without trying to obtain permission from the owner, at least give due credit. And spell the artist's name correctly. This entire 1972 (not 71) Ray Bryant session is on my blog: htetc.//stomp-off.blogspot.com --Chris Albertson

That's Lil with Sugar Johnnie's Creole Orchestra. Lil had this photo on her wall and she willed it to me, along with a lot of other photos. So, other than that, I don't know the history.
I'm glad you like the video. --Chris

That is true, but do you see something wrong with having a bit of background precede the title clip?

The Radio Parade Of 1935
Here's some other highlights from the movie.
Wonderful clip. This was the first British full-length film to feature color (Dufaycolor, an extinct process) but only in two sequences, including a production number starring singer Alberta Hunter. I included a fairly fuzzy copy of it in "My Castle's Rockin'," a documentary of Alberta's life, wh...

Teaser Rubys minnen av Bessie Smith
teaser om föreställningen Rubys minnen av Bessie Smith/Teater Magnolia
I am watching the clip in the very same room where Ruby and I sat during a series of tapings in 1971. She would never have imagined that her words would find their way to a Swedish actress, and so far away. Ruby would, however, have loved it!
Thank you, Marga.

I'm afraid Morton did not have Lil Hardin in mind when he named this tune, but it is a nice one and your tribute to my sorely missed friend is a nice one. I did one of my own, using Eastown Boogie, which is somewhere on YouTube.
Keep up the good work.
