Who or what is ChopSentral? Well the ChopSentral label was created by Colin and Rolex simply as a youtube hobby. Ideally, we created the channel to honor music that we loved and couldn't stand to see recklessly mutilated on the internet. We figured if we couldn't stand to listen to it you couldn't either. So we decided instead of listening to some horrible attempts at screwed and chopped on youtube and complaining why not do something about it, so we created ChopSentral.
We originate from New York City. Yah Yah, I know. WHAT!? Lol. And there you were thinking screwed and chopped was only a down south movement. Well it's caught on in the empire state as well.
Needless to say the screwed and chopped genre is relatively new and not yet mainstream but is finding it hard to become official in the industry when everybody with audio software wishes to experiment with some settings and post their newly discovered creations on the internet calling it "screwed and chopped" thereby giving the genre a bad name. We simply wish to curb this trend and share with the rest of the world a decent alternative to their favorite generic music as they know it.
We created ChopSentral to be community centric so we encourage comments and requests. We're also looking to add new DJs to share in our creative efforts. So if you're a DJ and think you can do what we do or better we maybe interested in adding your work to our weekly catalog. Currently the music is only uploaded by two DJs periodically and though we remain dedicated to the channel, we don't upload music in any consistent manner. Obviously the more people contributing to the channel the less likely our subscribers will wait for new music. (Or they can just send us a request)
We also compile a mixtape of popular songs periodically. They are completely free and available as digital downloads. Some maybe more special than others and only available to subscribers or on a request basis.
Enjoy the music and don't forget to subscribe. The more subs we acquire the more dedicated we become. This music can only get better. It's a hobby now but we can definitely blow your eager little minds if we wanted 2 ;)
