Children's Council of San Francisco: Think Child Care
Who We Are~
Children's Council of San Francisco has been a leader for children and child care needs for more than 36 years at the local, state and national level. Public policy and advocacy efforts are instrumental to our work. Past policy/advocacy strategies have included developing position papers, arguing for policy changes, and testifying at hearings. But as the community changes so must our ability to meet their needs within the scope of public policy.
Why Youtube?
Nothing is more valuable to the public policy process than the voices, faces and stories by the people it should best serve. Youtube and other forms of social media can be a powerful tool for advocacy and public policy development.
These tools offer the opportunity to: •Share information in a fun and interactive way. •Mobilize key constituents on specific policy issues. •Engage the community in a way where their perspective and knowledge may otherwise not be heard. •Reach new parts of the San Francisco community and those that may be thousands of miles away. (This includes current allies and a new generation of child care partners.) •Utilize creativity to deliver information. •Go beyond the traditional written word and in-person interactions.
These tools are instrumental in meeting the evolving needs of the places we all live and share. Our goal is to add videos every few weeks that capture current policy and legislation and how your voice can be meaningfully engaged in the conversation.
The Children's Council of San Francisco is excited to have a new type of vigorous dialogue with the community. Please subscribe to our Channel (www.youtube.com/ChildCareSF) and be a part of this ongoing process.

child care keeps every country in business, creating jobs for childcare workers and allowing others to go to work. Its a fast growing industry but a needy one all the same. Its important to keep childcare regulated to safe guard the safety of the child(s) and so on. Its interesting to hear about childcare in your country.
