I love to cook, but I'm living on a tiny income. So, I'm sharing my adventures in budget cookery with you. My kitchen isn't perfect. My pans look like I use them. And my oven could stand some Easy-off. In other words . . . I'm a lot like you! I hope you enjoy my channel!

When I compute the cost of each recipe I count the cost of items purchased to make the dish. I don't count the costs of items you should/could already have in your kitchen (unless the recipe calls for large amounts of the item). Here's a list of those items:

milk
butter
eggs
mustard
mayonnaise
ketchup
cinnamon
sugar
basil
garlic powder
salt
black pepper
vanilla extract (imitation is ok)
cornstarch
baking powder
baking soda
cooking spray (non-stick oil spray)
vegetable oil
olive oil
shortening
all-purpose (plain) flour
American cheese
baking/biscuit mix

I also don't calculate the cost of optional items, since adding these ingredients is purely your choice.
