About this user
Channel 83 wishes to become a valuable resource for those who share an interest in wounds and wounding. I started this website in order to be able to gather, archive and explore material related to these and related subject matters. I also wish to create new connections between artists, writers, directors, academics, students, and in general all those people whose work focuses on topics somehow connected to wounds, such as bruises, abrasions, injuries, trauma, body modifications, violence, etc.
Channel 83 should act as a platform where people swap ideas, display their own work and discuss that of others. With this project, I am hoping to build a plateau , a network of practitioners from different areas of interest willing to actively contribute to the creation of further, fresher, wounds: Channel 83 is directly involved in a series of collaborations, promotions and initiatives taking place under multiple guises (events, exhibitions, talks, actions) involving performers, artists, directors, musicians, DJs and VJs. Each of this project's contributors approaches the idea of wounding differently in terms of understanding, media, and results. I shall take into consideration material coming from the most disparate areas of contemporary culture, the arts and the academia, without privileging any particular standpoint at the moment of compiling this 'archive of wounds': therefore on this website you will find a variety of references to disciplines including cinema, anthropology, sociology, the arts, performance, fashion, medicine, etc.
Please feel welcome to contribute to the website in any way you see fit: Channel 83 needs more articles, essays, reviews, interviews (not to mention artworks) to showcase. Therefore please send me an email if you think you have something interesting to share; I will be delighted to consider your contribution as long as it fits with the theme of this project. Do not hesitate: I will consider work by anybody, regardless of their fame, style, approach, background.

Finally, one reminder:
You may not like some of the things you'll encounter while browsing this website, or the content and purpose of this project as a whole. Remember, please, that accepting other people's preferences, views, obsessions, approach and opinions is not only important, but by all means necessary.
As I understand that the subject matters constituting the foundation of this project may appear controversial to some, I have put this warning here as a sign of goodwill; similarly we ask that, again as a gesture of goodwill, those who might be disturbed (or even worse, offended) by the sight of wounds or by any content which is 'adult' in nature refrain from visiting this website, as to avoid pointless and unnecessary disputes.
Channel 83 does not want to offend, harm or shock anybody; but even more, I do not want to argue over the content of this website or the aim of this project . If you think you could be offended by the content of this website, please EXIT now.
For those who wish to explore what this website has to offer, instead, a warm welcome: a coronation of wounds is waiting for you on Channel 83.
