You don't want to use a Zippo or similar lighter due to the lighter fluid, a butane gas lighter is fine (and many say preferred even over matches). If you do use matches, do NOT use the paper matches, wood only (and it will take 2-4 matches to properly light a cigar- 1-2 cigar matches...
