The CEO, Mr.James Whitehead and several colleagues noticed an usually large number of women shopping at a local Lane Bryant store. Each of these women where plus-size and each were more than willing to purchase garments and apparel from Lane Bryant. However, curiosity took over Mr. Whitehead and he asked the store manager why none of the patron who were so faithfully purchasing item resembled the models on the P.O.P. (point of purchase) posters which lined the windows. Mr.Whitehead was not satisfied with the answer he received a was convinced to pursue the matter further. As a admirer of plus-size beauty, Jim know many women who had with worked for Lane Bryant and or shopped there often. Over the next couple of month he conducted he's own version of a zogbys poll. To see if he could ferret out the true reason with Lane Bryant and other sellers of plus-size women's clothing marketing initiative departments mentioned the size availability in their catalog along side thin models, however unusual. Because none of the models hired for any marketing campaign were above a size 12-14. Again as an admirer of plus-size women he was both frustrated and put-off by what he considered a clear disregard for the modeling aspiration of thousand of full figure models and the larger ladies who frequented Lane Bryant and other vendors. These population was being drastically under represented by merchants who wanted the economic resources of plus-size women but did not want to hire plus-size women as models in their advertisements. Along with two business partners Mr.James Whitehead launched Celestrial-Event.com in the fall of 2001.
