In this video, I review William Lane Craig's use of Bayes' Theorem in his debate with Bart Ehrman. Here are some links to the debate.
Whole debate: http://www.youtub...
Debate broken into pieces (better audio/visual sync): http://www.youtub...
Where Craig starts talking about Bayes' Theorem: http://www.youtub...
There are two purposes for this video.
(1) I'll show that Craig's methods are entirely bogus (I am unsure whether Craig is deliberately trying to deceive, or whether he just made some silly mistakes).
(2) I'll show what Bayes' Theorem really says about the resurrection of Jesus. Needless to say, it says something rather different to what Craig thinks it says.
I realise not everyone will like my conclusion, and I'll be happy to interact with any objections people might make in the comments section. I'll probably include objections and my responses in this video description. Note that objections that simply don't engage with my arguments may be ignored.
Just a small amount of background. I am a professional mathematician; I teach and conduct research at an Australian University. You don't have to be a mathematician to use a formula, but it often takes a mathematician to spot the exact moment a formula has been MIS-used, and to sort out the problem.
