Cat-Care is a 501(c)3 non-profit formed to provide a safe and loving alternative to abandoned or abused kittens and cats in Volcano, Hawaii.
Cat-Care operates "The Cat House" a limited-access no-kill, cage-free environment. The rescued cats are able to roam on one-half acre of fenced land. If not adopted, the residents are able to live out their natural lives in a safe and loving environment.
Most of the cats have been rescued from the local dump or scheduled for euthansia at our local animal control agency.
We need to end pet overpopulation by having our pets spayed or neutered. Please check out the videos in my Favorites for some really wonderful videos about spaying and neutering.

You've got to wonder what the tourists would think about our benevolent island image, if they knew what animal neglect and cruelty stood behind it. "Aloha spirit" is an empty, mocking phrase where compassion for other species is non-existent and institutionalized cruelty is accepted as "sport".
Cat Cares Cat House is taking on a public responsibility for all Volcano citizens. The very least WE can do, is help support its efforts, by making tax-deductible, matching funds donations to Cat Cares Cat House through Sack'N'Save. It's a way to share the responsibility. It's a way to embody compassion and properly extend it to all beings—it's living Aloha.
