IMHO I think the kiss after the 2nd proposal was supposed to be metaphoric for the wedding. That's why the lighting was so 'fairytalelike.'

If I see it in that context then my disappointment isn't so great.

A lot of the comments regarding Elyan seem to indicate many believes he looks at Gwen with contempt or disgust. What I get is abject disappointment in his sister. Whether he should have stood up to Arthur fin support of her is another matter.

@ondynefairy Sorry, can't agree with that. Kings, princes , the nobility all had mistresses and esp servant girls were a dime a dozen- sometimes at the same time. There's fact and there's romance. Obviously Merlin errs on the side of romance. Great! I love it. The facts are a little more barbaric.
