Welcome to Captain's Live, the new breeding ground for red hot live music talent in Ireland. Captain's Live now has two dedicated music venues in Dublin -- the original Captain's Live situated above the Captain Americas Cookhouse in Tallaght and the brand new state of the art venue in Blanchardstown, adjacent to the brand new Captain America's outlet. Captain's Live sessions are also held in the Captain Americas restaurants in Dublin's Grafton Street and Cork's Washington Street and both of these venues are currently being developed with a view to having their own dedicated Captain's Live venues.

Captain's Live in Tallaght came to life on June 27th, 2008. A group of young local music lovers recognized the need for a new live music venue in the Dublin suburb and the head honchos at Captain America's embraced the idea. A young band called Good New took to a small stage in the corner of the upstairs part of the restaurant on that night and Captain's Live was born. Good New have since gone on to become Bipolar Empire, a band now tipped for great success, having just completed their debut appearance at Oxegen 2010 and due to release their debut album in early 2011.

Since that fateful night in June '08, the 'upstairs' restaurant in Tallaght has been transformed into the seven-nights-a-week Captain's Live Tallaght and the venue has welcomed the musical treats of some of Ireland's finest new talent. Over the three Summers of its existence, Captain's Live Tallaght has played host to well known Irish bands Dirty Epics, Codes, The Mighty Stef, The Brothers Movement and The Rags. Captain's Live has played it's part in giving new bands and musicians a much needed live music platform and the intimate venue in Tallaght has seen performances from The Cades, The Looks, The Struts, Neon Stars, Blue Syndrome, The Eskies, Leopold, Me & The General, Gypsies on the Autobahn, The Hot Sprockets and countless more.

On the July bank holiday weekend 2010, the brand new state of the art Captain's Live Blanchardstown was launched with the massive Captain's Live Independence Weekend Festival, which saw the very best Irish bands and DJs performing over two days and nights at the new location. Declan O'Rourke, Codes, The Chapters, Bipolar Empire, The Mighty Stef, The Rags and a host of others popped the musical cherry of Blanchardstown's best new live music venue. DJs from all of the top Dublin indie clubs gathered for a blitz of speaker blowing sets and over 1,000 music fans enjoyed the sounds and cocktails at Captain's Live Blanchardstown.

Since its launch, the venue has held good on its promise of an unrelenting touring schedule of live music. The worth of the venue is reflected in the fact that record company giants EMI Records have partnered up for a weekly Friday night get together called 'The New Breed Sessions' featuring the best emerging Irish bands. Choice music prize nominee R.S.A.G. and dirty rock merchants The Minutes, have already featured. On the cards over the coming months are acts such as Ham Sandwich, Le Galaxie, Crayonsmith, Miracle Bell, Sweet Jane and the list just keeps on growing. And live music isn't the only entertainment on the menu! Clubnights such as the legendary electro rampage TRASHED! and the indie-tastic INDIE-STRUCTABLE, a comedy night and rock n' roll karaoke are all part of the week long schedule at Captain's Live in Blanchardstown and Tallaght.

Captain's Live will continue to evolve and grow over the coming years, adding new venues wherever and whenever it can, in an on-going battle to liberate live music in the suburbs and beyond!
