i cant help you on that , i think you need to experiment with the settings when you export videos. this is also my problem, sometime video don't work or crappy and some times audio don't work or crappy.

just mess around with the settings and when you get a good one, just try to remember it. sorry i cant help you about this. try to Google it you might find your answer.

well, i dont really look at the spikes of the sound, its more like an ear thing.i listen to the beat and i time it with an action that i like from a video. like if someone makes a punch, the minute that it connects, thats when i add the sound (spike)

Also, you dont need to connect all the fights with the beat of the sound, sometimes you need to sync it with the lyrics. but that depends on the music you use.

well if there was i haven't found it yet, for me, i like doing it manually. i think there is an option to put a markers for every set amount of time.

Ex.
you can put a marker for every 1min of the clip or every 30 sec of the clip, just figure out the difference of each spike of the beat. but be warned not all beat have the same diference in them, some times its 30sec, and sometimes its 35 sec and that could really ruin your video.

well, about timing the beat, i have a mice with a wheel on it and I use it to skip the beat for every sec. then i listen to the right spot and then thats where i put my effects. if you are using Adobe if you found the right spot, you can put a marker on it or press star ( * ) to add a marker on it. that would help you remember some key points to the music.

MP3's works for me, all you need are some codecs. dont forget to look for codecs. its very important to have codecs for AMV makers.

go to these links, it should help you out.

yeah, i tried using Vista as well and i didn't like it cause of the driver conflict that i keep getting. so right now I'm still using XP pro.

Premier Pro is one of the most used video editor out there. I tried it and the interface is pretty simple enough to understand. it just takes some time getting used to it. i think you can download the trial version then you can decide if its an easy program to use.

when you imposrt videos to Premiere it transformes it to different format, then you can edit . after you edit. you can export to quicktime, WMV, and DVD format. i dont use move maker cause it always freez on me.

I'm not sure what you mean by Clips,
Movies that you cut into small segments can be imported to Windows Media, QuickTime or DVD format. Even if its only 10 sec of film, it can still be imported to those formats.
And yeah I think Premiere is easier too.
